Winter: Monday-Friday, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. -5 p.m. ; Sunday, 12- 5 p.m.
Fall/Spring: 7 days a week 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Summer: 7 days a week, 10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

What does freedom mean in the 21st century? Ponder this question as you peruse the National Liberty Museum’s exhibits. From a replica of Nelson Mandela’s jail cell, to a pair of life-size sculptures made from jellybeans, there’s something thought-provoking around every corner! Come to NLM and discover what it means to live like a hero.

Getting There

SEPTA BUSES providing service to this area include bus routes: 5, 9, 17, 21, 33, 38, 42, 44, 48, 57 & 121.

SEPTA Regional Rail Lines stop at nearby Jefferson Station. From there it is a short bus or subway ride, or a leisurely walk to the Museum.

SEPTA Market-Frankford Subway stops at Second and Fifth Streets on Market, only a few minutes’ walk away.

The PHLASH Visitor Trolley stops on Chestnut Street near the Museum.


National Liberty Museum has a side entrance ramp and full sized elevator that assesses all floors of the museum.
