The Institute of Contemporary Art at the University of Pennsylvania believes in the power of art and artists to inform and inspire. The ICA is free for all to engage and connect with the art of our time.
The Institute of Contemporary Art at the University of Pennsylvania is a place to encounter art that urgently needs to be seen. ICA’s curators seek work that illuminates our contemporary moment, that challenges us to think in new ways. ICA believes this is how it should be at an art museum on a university campus, where new ideas and free exchange flourish.
Please note groups of over 10 STAMP teens must fill out a tour form on the ICA website here: http://www.icaphila.org/visit/pdf/TourICA_3.pdf
ICA is located on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania at the corner of 36th and Sansom Streets (between Chestnut and Walnut Streets), seven blocks west of the Schuykill Expressway (76) from the 30th Street or South Street Exits.
For driving directions, click here. Public parking lots are located adjacent to the museum and in the surrounding area, and metered parking is available on the street. ICA is an easy walk from Amtrak and SEPTA lines: Take Amtrak or SEPTA to 30th Station, then walk west on Market Street to 36th Street, then south to Sansom Green Subway Surface (except #10) to 36th St. and Sansom Streets. You can also take the Market/Frankford Subway west to 34th and Market Streets. For public transportation, take city bus #21 to 36th and Walnut Streets, or any green line train (except #10) to 36th Street.
