Today I had felt most in touch with my passion for art than I had in a while. Today we visited the United States’ first art museum and art school, and I was merely thrilled to see an art school that fits various artists’ needs all in one building with such high tech technology. Examining student work, alumni and American artists at PAFA, I noticed this museum was the first to spark both interest and an intense connection to myself. As I observed several paintings and drawings by teenagers and young adults I contemplated about how I wanted to take my passion for art more solemnly soon and invest both more time and energy into it.
I learned that PAFA has the largest collection of European sculptures, which interested me since today I observed a life sized sculpture of a man for the first time. I also admired the general makeup of the museum. The lighting was nice, the pieces were spaced apart quite nicely so that an outsider wouldn’t think, ‘too much is going on at one time’, and sculptures were set up and stationed where they all caught one’s attention. As we learned about curating last week I took that into consideration today at the museum and noticing the exhibitions and paintings, I felt that the curators and directors at PAFA were perfect at it. ~Zeina
