Professional Development: the Halfway Point

This is another post about week three (the midpoint) but is instead focused on our Friday sessions. In the morning, we talked about how our week was and played a few games. I always like the morning sessions because a lot of it is just us talking to each other and the friends we’ve made about work and life in general. The activity this week was to order a list of things we would need (1 because the most important and 15 being the least) if our spaceship crashed and we had to get to a mothership miles away. I didn’t think NASA actually created a list for this too but hey, it’s always good to be prepared. My list was close to theirs but I still would’ve died in space if that was the case. We did a riddle as well that said “A man has to get a fox, a chicken, and a sack of corn across a river. He has a rowboat, and it can only carry him and one other thing. If the fox and the chicken are left together, the fox will eat the chicken. If the chicken and the corn are left together, the chicken will eat the corn. How does the man do it?”. Hearing this riddle before, I had an idea of what he answer was but it was fun to see everyone else try to figure it out.

In the afternoon session w pretty much got into groups and shared our experience with the program with the group. We each discussed how the arts impacted our lives, the challenges we faced at work, things we learned, and how the internships have helped shape us. It was good to hear about everyone else’s experiences and what they learned.

Well, that’s all for last week. I’ll update you guys soon on week 4 of work and trips. Until then,
