Three weeks have zoomed by and I am halfway through my internship. Throughout these past few weeks, I have started to leave my mark at the National Liberty Museum. I am in the middle of curating my own exhibit at the museum. How many 16 year olds can say they were able to create their very own an exhibit? I’ve also been creating the signs that are being displayed at the front of the museum. I have been able to release my creative that has been locked up for centuries.
During this week my inner artistic dragon has been lured out into the open. She was able to step foot into the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and feed her hunger with the inspiration of so many talented artists and their works. She was able to travel the city and explore for art murals hidden in plain sight. My inner dragon wandered out further than it has ever gone to view art pieces still unknown by many.
Inspiration is the action or power of moving the intellect or emotions. This week’s exploration of both my artistic ability and the very city I live in has opened my eyes to the sheer genius that surrounds my everyday life. As a resident of Philadelphia, I have gotten so use to murals that it might as well not be there. I’m glad I was able to take the time this week to take in my city and breathe in the motivation it exhales.
