Penn Museum Teen Ambassadors Wanted!
The Teen Ambassadors is a free after-school program in which Philadelphia area teenagers, grades 9-12, meet weekly to work together to understand the content of the Penn Museum and how it applies to their lives in order to make their museum more relevant and meaningful to teen visitors.
Through group discussion and hand-on activities, Teen Ambassadors learn about anthropology and how it can be used to understand their identities and their experiences. Teen Ambassadors then combine their new perspectives with the museum’s exhibitions and pre-existing programs, to create new, engaging experiences for the Penn Museum’s teenage audience.
Teen Ambassadors will meet on a weekly basis through the school year: on Tuesday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. from late October to mid-May. Teen Ambassadors will also be expected to spend some time throughout the week preparing for the weekly meetings as well as work on their projects. The Penn Museum supplies food and tokens at their Tuesday meetings.
