Paint a Painting of a Painting

Paint a Painting of a Painting

On our trip to the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the interns were challenged to “Paint a Painting of a Painting.” This inspired poems, sketches, stories, pictures, and many creative responses. Here are a few examples:

Light

shining through my dark eyes

to make it brighter

Blended by the Light

don’t know what is behind it

yeah, looking stressful

while I

waking every morning

living life like it’s nothing.

But seeing the struggle on her face

makes her stronger

Brighter

like light.

The basket of loans is very important to me. It reminds me of family dinners, where bread was part of the meal.

Cracks from within

strategically placed

on one another

desperate to continue the trend.

The trend to be yourself

yet some one’s different

the trend of an imaginary fantasy

the desire that shatters your heart

into shards of glass

your fingers covered in red tears

as the glass crawls

from underneath your skin

creating the crack

you’ve always wanted
