I hope everyone had a great Valentine’s Day. This has been one of wildest winters we’ve had in a while, but what’s a better time to enjoy the warmth and comfort inside a museum!
On the first Sunday of February I visited the Barnes and enjoyed the galleries. There were live performances and refreshments and I got a chance to pass through the Yinka Shonibare MBE: Magic Ladders special exhibit. It was phenomenal and everything was very beautiful and breathtaking. There were lots of bright colors and thought-provoking scenes to admire. When you’re at the Barnes I do highly suggest taking a stop there.
Some upcoming ArtSee activity days at the Barnes are February 16th from 11am-3pm and February 17th from 11am-2pm. Also be sure to join us for the first Sunday of next month, when admission is free to all. And the next Barnes first Friday event is on March 7th from 6-9pm.
Also, don’t forget to stop by the Penn Museum on Saturday, March 8th from 1-4 pm to check out the Iraqi Cultural Day festivities. There will be music, literature and art from the past to present day Iraq. Check out the Penn Museum’s STAMP profile page and Danielle Romano’s posts in the Teen Council Posts section of the STAMP blog for more information on the Penn Museum.
