Thinking about majoring in the arts in college? Why not get a taste for it at a legit art school?
The University of the Arts is one of the only universities in the United States dedicated solely to visual arts, performing arts and design. Thanks to UArts Pre-College Programs, high school students can get the full art school experience before they even graduate. And it’s the real deal: The Pre-College Programs are taught by the same professors who teach for UArts at the college level.
Get started with the Pre-College Saturday School, which offers college-level courses designed specifically for high school students in grades 9 through 12. Courses are offered in crafts, design, fine arts, media, performing arts and writing. Whether you need help developing a portfolio, writing sample, short video or multimedia piece for college admission, or you just want to explore a new artistic discipline, the Saturday School is the place to be.
If you want an even more immersive experience, you can enroll in the Pre-College Summer Institute. Choose from visual art, design, dance, music, creative writing and more, and spend up to 4 weeks honing your skills and living on campus. You’ll also get to go on trips to local theaters, museums and concert halls and have direct access to the galleries, restaurants and shopping that will complement your pre-college coursework.
