I could choose to write about anything for this blog, but I’m going to focus on our trips this week. So this week we went to The Academy of Natural Sciences, the Franklin Institute, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the Philadelphia Zoo. I’m a true lover of culture, and so going on these weekly trips to museums is like a dream come true. I mean of course it comes with some downfalls, like walking from location to location, or trying to make sense of the Phlash bus schedule and stops, but they are always super enjoyable and interesting, especially because we get to learn about different jobs in the Arts.
Now for a funny story. Although this isn’t directly connected to the trips, it’s kind of funny. So, as mentioned above, we visited quite a few museums in one day. Our schedule had somehow gotten slightly thrown off, so this is what happens as a result. After we were done at the Zoo, we were allowed to leave, but most of us didn’t know how to get home from over there, so we are all waiting for the Phlash Bus for what feels like a long time, and one drives right by us. We had been waiting in the wrong spot! A half hour later, another Phlash bus comes and we all get on. It brings us back to the Art Museum, which is where we find out that we have to transfer to another Phlash bus to get to where we are all heading. We wait, and eventually a majority of us decide to take a SEPTA bus to get where we are trying to go, as the other bus hadn’t come at the time that the previous driver had said. As I get to the spot that I need to be, my bus is right there. I get off the bus and start chasing after it. It pulls away, and me being the ambitious person that I am, decide to run after it at full speed to try and catch up to it. When I think I’m about to catch the bus the light changes and I continue to chase after it for four blocks! Eventually I decide to give up and end up near Rittenhouse Square, waiting for another bus. You know the saying third times a charm, well besides the first bus that I chased after, two more buses followed and drove right past my stop because they were so packed. And so the third bus that I waited for at this stop was the one that finally got me home. So the moral of the story is always know multiple ways of how to get home from where you’re going.
