Week 2: (July 17) Writing More Clearly with Mighty Writers

There was a time in 7th grade, close to my birthday the date was September 30, and it was a Friday. I was waiting to be picked up by my mom who said she would there soon. 3 hours later, I was the only student left. I decided to call her another being that I was beginning to get upset, she answers the phone with a panicked voice that I didn’t quite catch onto. I started to yell about her being late and me being stuck in the 70 degree weather that felt more like 30 degrees.

As I got ready to throw a tantrum, she cut me off by explaining my grandmother and her passing.

I didn’t know how to feel and had never experienced death of a close relative before. I immediately confided in my bestie since 4th grade, who went through the same and she told me she would be there always.
