Back to School with STAMP

This month we’ve said goodbye to summer and hello to pumpkin spice. As we resume our 8-4’s in the coal mines—other wise known as school, I hope your STAMP experience does not take a halt. Museums are awesome research tools for assignments. Art has interesting things to say about the climate in which it was created. The political commentary a piece brings forward will aid in any research.

The Civil Rights Movement can be explored in PAFA’s Spiritual Strivings: A Celebration of African American Works on Paper” exhibit or at the African American Museum. Visit PMA for a better understanding of cultural art movements like Modernism, Japanese tea houses and Moorish history. Ancient civilizations are the Penn Museum’s thing!  There’s a science project coming up? Visit the Mütter Museum. A trip to NMAJH gives more insight to a report on the Holocaust, as well as contributions the Jewish community.

The great thing about these museums are they are perfect for a quick after-school visit. You can earn Stamp Bucks from visiting these museums as well as expand your knowledge on a number of topics.
